Fowlers have been doing this for year or so, a couple of work mates over in south wales brought these bikes.
if i remember correctly they are a exc-r with loads of extra's missing, stuff like indecator's and they come with the enduro pack, which it self seems to mean less stuff. Having said that i have a pile of new bits in the garage which have never and will never get used.
there was a potential problem highlighted which might have meant a problem getting the bike thru an MOT in three years time, cant remember what right now
But essentially all the important bits are there so it seemed like a good deal, just check out what you dont get mate.

If i recalll ?the XC has the moto cross engine twin cam motor and gearbox slightly stiffer suspension no speedo and as mentioned no indecators switchs speedo etc , stuff you prob take off a exc, the above[ XC-W ] has the wide ratio gearbox plus elec boot ,so goes like the moto crosser XC twin cam EXC-R single cam more low end power/grunt you may want to consider ? the XC-W 250? sam as exc 250 but moto cross engine no carb clitchs 250s both twin cams ,tried one top top bike
there again on the other hand i may not know what im talking about thing do change ?
free power parts ? the thing goes like billy go, it dont need no power parts ? unless standerd its choked up and needs power parts to let that moto cross engine breath flippin rocket ship should be fun in the lanes a very powerfulll bike this ?gulp lol SAFTY be awear of small children and little fluffy animals
as mentioned i may be wrong but i think this was a american ?aus market setup sold as a great hair and hound bike but enduro ? xc-f close ratio gearbox xc-w wide ratio gearbox [fowlers are selling both ]

xc s come with the closed cartridge forks and stiffer springs better damping etc but dont come fully road legal as they are built as a cross country racer i for one would have one over an exc as i find the exc to softly sprung for me
picked some bits up from albion this morning and was chatting to Richard about this, he said ask steve or gary for the full details, but i tend to avoid both of them cos it might become an expensive conversation.
having a new bike set up for enduro basically means, the shop remove the indicators & cabling and the daft rear number plate hanger, (which hangs down and would last until the first badger).
The bike arrives with 2 sets of chain & sprokets they remove the 48/15 (i think), and fit the other 52/15. They also jet the bike off road.
You then get a big box of bits full of the unused parts, which is handy. looking at the in the picture, most of this has been removed. So my guess is this bike is ordered in a different fashion, or, fowlers hang onto the bits for resale, allowing them to retail the bike for less.
As for missing bits, richard mentioned something about the bike being aimed at the american market, the back light being missing and the gear box ratio's being different.
So i guess ultimatley - can you live without the extra bits? is the bike really legal in the UK and what will it need for the first MOT?

they are legal in the uk using the enduro competition get out clause at dvla on first registration as for the first mot tape the lights up and fit a push bike horn and get a daytime mot as for the other bits if you wanted them good old fleabay always has lots for sale
