Hi everyone, just joined the Devon Forum (after re-joining TRF)
I am a Devonian (exiled in Yorkshire for last 20 years), originally born in Newton Abbot and schooled in Teignmouth & also did Agric @ Bicton etc. so thought I would join this Board to see what going on at 'home'
I've booked a place on the T2T 2012 in April to ride with you all and to ride some lanes in my old home County
It's good to read the Board to see all the pics of my old haunts, however I know the lanes by name (Simms/Slippery Sam etc) and your numbering system confuses me somewhat, never mind though !!
In the good old days, I bought my first Yams (TY175) from TVM in Ringmore and later in Kingsteignton and remember Greens Suzuki in Newton Abbot (now a Honda dealer) and Torbay Honda @ Mile End and DMX in Newton Abbot too - all halcyon days when there was a bike shop on nearly every street corner
As a kid, I did trials with WEMC and Devonport DMC Clubs before getting a DT125MX and DT175MX to do some trails (although my Dad did take me on the back of his Suzuki TS250C to Heathfield and Bluewaters to do some riding offroad, in the 70's)
Nowadays I have a 1999 Honda XR250 and a BMW G650 XChallenge for trailriding and still do Trials up here in Yorkshire on a Montesa 4RT
Looking forward to meeting you in April and doing some other Devon rides perhaps, in future months too
