Yes. I guess Dan and I will become neighbours this season.

Looks like there may be another TRF member having a go this year too. Only signed up for one meeting so far ........ I wonder who it might be wink

Ian, if I had a 1980 KLX250, would I be able to enter?

How many shocks does it have? Generally 2 = yes!

Of course you would Craig smile

One of those would meet all the criteria. Air cooled, twin shock and drum braked.

The only down side would be the power ...... or lack of it biggrin

They can be made to go alot quicker though. Shame you were not at Telford last weekend. There were a few nice twinshocks at a reasonable price.

I had to walk away from a complete 1984 Husky 500AE. At £1400 (less I guess if you haggled) it was a snip. Just needed a light restoration and engine check over. Would be good for classic enduro's too.

A full on 500 two stroke enduro weapon with a 3 speed fully automatic gearbox ........ heaven !

I know it may have come across as a stupid question, but I just wanted to let folks know I am up for a bit of humiliation wink.

Just hope that the bike is up to scratch.

Picking it up from the Midlands next week.

SWSBO has already expressed her disgust and deep dismay at the suggestion of my participation in competitive events disbelief. She thinks she is justified in spending the same amount of dosh on clothes and footwear.

Me thinks things have backfired a little no.

Craig

Was that the one on ebay Craig ?
If it was, it was up at Telford witha £750 price tag on it. If you got it cheaper then that's good. It needs a lot of work on it.

Got it cheaper than that. Don't mind a bit of work. Just hope I can get it ready in time confuse.

Craig you'll make no more of a fool of yourself than anyone else!!! plus as its only about £40 for days racing I think you might be able to control your wife's equal and opposite reaction! (ps you'll need to ignore purchase and maintenance costs! - or hide them!)

Yeah, I blame you or Harty for making this thread go green !
Been bugging me for the last few days. Hey-ho.... it's the way this country is going.

Not sure about Owslebury Dan, its the weekend before our meeting at Dartmouth. We are running three days this year. Saturday afternoon has a classic and twinshock trial. Full day's racing Sunday, and practice and two blocks on Sunday, plus prize giving. So maybe a little busy. On the other hand it maybe a good idea to go to Owslelbury as I probably won't get to race at Dartmouth.

You're right I hadn't noticed that they were so close. I'll think on it too. I have the regs if you decide to go

Cheers Dan.
Time seems to be the issue this year with the family !
I've not even looked at the CCM for this year yet !
Only just about finished the Husky for next weekend with Neil, Rupert and Co.
Worst case scenario, I could always take the lights off the WR and race that in the twin shocks.

You foot peg wideners have arrived Kerry, for the princely sum of £10!

If the shocks are only 1" short I'd be tempted to leave them for a bit, especially if they are new?

Here's something to give you inspiration!!

If it takes Kerry as long to finish the XT as it did for Dick and Miles to build two new KSI Thumpers, he'll be in the over 60's class smile

Looks like this thread is still green !  Any techies out there know why ?
