Thinking about getting a trials bike, like most its not registered bu I'd like to get it registered.

Been offered a scorpa needs a little work and I don't for one minute think is stolen as I know the bloke.

 But is there a way of checking?

Could you ask the old bill to check the frame number against their database?

.............after first waiting on hold for 30 minutes and being bounced between departments.....

You can send them an email though..

 They won't do it - they wait until you buy the bike and will then tell you whether stolen or not confuse

Your actually doing their work for them but they'd rather let you walk into a trap and then penalise you for it!

Right - my neighbours are both in the force so I think I'll have an 'over the fence' with them about itbiggrin

Probably not this simple but can't you just buy it, get a receipt and try registering it.  If your collar is felt explain that you bought it from so and so etc. etc.

Best to make sure your freind isn't planning any foreign holidays soon.

 

Does everyone who buys a trials bike make a note of the frame number in case it gets stolen?  I know they should but how many do?

I bought the CR500 without any matching numbers but the reg fitted the description of the bike and that wasn't stolen.  That was good enough for me.

 If Stolen then the police will take from you and return to origonal owner and leave you with nowt cry
