Imitation bearskin Tim. Is that real beaver tail hanging on your avatars helmet?

Nice one Simmo, I think he's right. I think the "**** suits" he's referring to are the adventure style oversuits a lot of these guys seem to wear (probably for nipping into town rather than, say, Mexico!). Check out Austin's "uniform"

Austin refers to "middle-aged men in tw@t suits".  I'm aware of the middle aged men concept but could anyone enlighten me re. "tw@t suits"?

Austin Vince has I'm afraid gone to the darkside. Now that he's quit his teaching job, he now primarily goes round BMW and Touratech dealers licking their arses by doing his Mondo presentation. Especially now that he has realised that every man and his dog who buys a big beemer gets it all blinged up with Touratech gear, are now his paymasters. Funny how money changes folk

"Also, the way the ridiculous giant adventure bike thing has been launched by the industry/media/Touratech has, at a stroke, excluded pretty much any normal female biker from the scene."

He must have a small insignificant tounge...

and another thing......you don't get as many biker nods if you are wearing jeans confuse

Interesting this........since I stopped being a courier I don't think I've worn my leather trousers on a bike or anywhere else.  Not even my CBR ones.  Kevlar jeans maybe but not leathers.

Never needed them when I was a courier even when I kissed the M4.  I rode a CR250 in trainers once too.

Guy down the road from me bought a spanking new GSXR750 and he only ever goes out in full power ranger dresscode.

From this I conclude that it is best to be prepared but if you aren't it is unlikely anything will happen but it could do, so be prepared or not, depends how you feel.

Didn't seem to bother Steve 'King of Cool' McQueen.

I nearly always wear my leathers on my road bike - had two offs in them over the years and without wearing them I'd have considerably less skin than I do now!

Good point!  Nobody ever thinks of the cows. confuse

The reason Avatar is animated is because all the real life blue skinned aliens were used by Levi Strauss in the 1800s to produce denim for product testing. Kept the cowboys from chafing too.

They are working on growing leather (next to the Panorama spaghetti trees).

Were a caption competition on offer I would submit " So Simmers you've still not ridden around the world? Assume the position"

Most people that ride around the world tend to return to where they started.  Why not just keep going?
