I did 15 miles the day before yesterday on two bridleways and three permissive bridleways between Steps bridge and Fingle bridge on my other (giant) bike. Not sure I would like to venture offroad without at least six inches of suspension travel though. You will either spend most of your time stood up, or wish you had when you next sit down. Here is my bike parked next to some rather organic furniture.

Certainly quieter than my other machine, which actually cost less and has an engine too! A great way of exploring the ways we are not allowed on that link up our lanes. Brilliant fun. Even falling into the water at a ford didn't dampen the enthusiam of a friend who might think twice before following me in future. I bet some of you know that feeling. Even the bloody knee sustained when this badger dragged him down the steep slope didn't spoil the day.

I have wondered about posting a mountainbike ride to see if there would be more interest than derision and disbelief.

I know what you mean, but I went for a 29er (29" wheels) which should help smooth out the ride.smile
