Advice on a 100 laner!??

Ah yes the 100 mmm Nice

Yup all down to the planning just as much as the riding

Start in an area with some of the most concentrated lanes you can find will give you a head start

Short linked/ing lanes will give an advantage aswell

Don't have too many pasty stops neither winkbiggrin

Loads of advice on here

Good luck and don't forget the all important user evidence form

Hi Guys

Just planned and rode a 130 mile loop around dartmoor with only just over 50 lanes!!!

Given the distance and time taken to do the ride i think a 100 laner is possible but the only problem is my planning!

Any hints into how to start to plan such an event and also hints on the execution of the route

Cheers

Spider

 On the Devon TRF site

Lots of useful stuff about planning, planning and some helpful hints about planning too. Must try that one day, could be a 200 lane day.

Oh crikey don't say that no

That's one of the reasons it dropped of the radar for fear of lane competition wink

Although i could match your 200 and raise you a 24 hour ride biggrinbiggrin

See now look what you've done pete smilesmile

I'm on holiday this week, anyone itching to get wet?

112 lanes took seven hours, but an hour was spent watching a puncture that didn't want to be repaired, we bypassed lots of lanes once 100 was in sight, and we weren't in any hurry really and the pace was steady and quite gentle with very few stops. The days start getting shorter this weekend so it ought to be soon or it could turn into a night ride. The first '100' lanes run was 155 lanes in eight hours with 5 mins cigarette break per hour. Realistically it would be eight in the morning until possibly seven in the evening. Still interested?

We will discuss on the Anticlockwise run if I dion't see you beforehand.

We wasted lots of time on the last 100 run like you said with a puncture, its a challenge but I'm sure its possible if all went smoothly. I'm still keensmile

Probably not a good idea on reflection. I enjoyed the relaxed pace of the last 100 lane run and would not want to spoil that by introducing pressure to keep on, particularly since people will start to get tired when they get past their normal run length and I don't want an injury on my conscience. I have to admit I had had enough after seven or eight hours last times around. Don't want to carry on after it stops being fun.
