These are definately the future, and whilst we may be concerned about KWH and battery life, bare in mind that 30% of the power will provide 70% of top speed due to the torque.

There has been alternative tried and tested e-bike on the market for years - see http://optibike.com/

May not look as sexy but is very practical plus tried and tested.
