Making a pig of the Piggery

Took Darren on a quick bimble around half of Shaldon today. Just before leaving I thought I'd see how the piggery was fairing up after recent weather.

Well the step looked massive, but I thought I'd give it a quick blip. Front wheel went vertical and I tried to hold onto the bike. I was off the back and had let go as I stepped back down - bike spun round on itself and came to rest as shown below. I didnt try it again!! No damage apart from a number plate scuff. I advised my mate not to have a go.

Apart from that a good little run and Darren is coming on quite well.

That, my good man, was far from novice, more like an expert dismount that the likes of Christian Pfeiffer would be proud of!!!

Landing on his feet perfectly balanced, albeit no longer on the machine, and facing the wrong way, in front of his bike!

I genuinely thought from his stance and the angle of the bike that he had parked it in order to help another rider struggling on the step, ...which his bike was on....then I watched him walk back around to the seat to remount and continue.

I could recount tales of Piggin incompetance but prefer to remind you of an instance where inconsiderate parking by me, (too close to the step), caused some problems for Ads on his Gasgas 300 after ascending past the usually critical point. An impressive fail.

In the past whilst pausing at this point I have noticed a robin flitting from branch to branch as if impatient for us to move on so it can investigate for any potential food source revealed by our passage.
