Mrs Cubber and I had a similar problem a few weeks ago.
We sorted it by taking Biscuit to the local pet shop - recent new management - that advertised a dog minding/sitting arrangement.
Dropped our dog off at the shop early one morning and Biscuit was delivered back to us three days later in a happy, fit, healthy state - no problems at all.
£16 per day/night all in - very reasonable and all care and exercise taken. I can thoroughly recommed them.
