Public warning especialy to parents

Sorry not bike related but comes top of my list

On sunday the 22/7/12 at exmouth beach a man with the description of

5ft 8-6ft tall around the age of 28 to 35

Wearing white shorts with a blus stripe up the leg & carrying a white t-shirt

of short dark scruffy hair and white trainers.

This mas was seen exposing himself and videoing young girls and young women, he was seen hanging around between the swan boats/old lifeboat station and the new lifeboat station.

Unfortunately he targeted my 16yr daughter and 4 of her friends and then went on to other younger children, they have reported him to police and lifeguards who are now aware and have been keeping a lookout to try and cath the B*****d. Aparently there has been 2 other similar incidents over the last few days.

I have taken my daughter and friends around the area again to hopefully catch him but with no success, but if i do he wont be able to do anything like that again.

So in the short of it any parents letting their children go to the beach with friends or family beach days please be aware and lets try and catch him, even if somone is suspicious dont take the risk

Gladly no damage done to my daughter or anyone else at present !! Lets try and keep it that way

Mark

Not in the areas that it happened to my knowledge as it was around near the dunes, but they should be checking local cctv footage in case seen near shops etc

It would be nice to think the police would be checking local cctv for leads but sadly I think to hope for or expect that would be naive. You or I would not be permitted to view the footage for fear of infringing the perv's human rights.

If you do find him don't forget you are allowed to use 'reasonable' force to make a citizens arrest, which ought properly be proportionate and approriate. Don't think anyone would query that.

I recall a would be thief making too much noise trying to knock the disc lock off a bike and being pushed dragged kicked and cajoled the mile or so to the police station by four angry bikers who were quite as surprised as the police sargeant at the bloody mess the 'alleged' thief was in by the time they got him there. He was in truth lucky they did not live too far from the nick. The policeman was good enough to make a short speech about the appropriate use of force in making a citizens arrest to the four before he would allow any of them to make a statement, (thus preventing them from saying anything that could be later used against them). I thnk more justice was done en route to the nick than later in court.

thats good to know pete,
i caught some lad on my mums moped a while back and when the police arrived they used force to get him off the bike, when i made a statement the police officer said that the lad wanted to press charges against me for hitting him and in the same breath wanted me as a witness to say the officer had used unreasonable force on him!
unbeleavable!
lets hope yopu find him b4 the police do eh, that way justice may well be served!

Any force used must be appropriate and proportional so bear that in mind when making any statement.

"I hit him because he deserved it" will get you into trouble.
"I hit him because he refused to come quietly and struggled violently" will not.

Thanks guys for your info regaring the law, it can be a very grey area, if i was in a situation where i had witnesed that type of crime, i would probably just take my chances, especialy being on children and women. There is to many laws and legal rights protecting this type of person or criminals in general. When i was in Dartmoor prison for 6 months (working mind you as an outside contractor) i was amazed that all there human rights were on massive boards all around the wings on what they can get entitled to etc, there was more rights they were entitled to that any living law-abiding citizen could get, which to me is just totaly wrong and unfair. Anyway i just hope he gets caught and that justice will be done 1 way or another.
