Trials bike help

I am currently trying to figure out well a trials bike will stand up to trail riding.

I understand the issue of gearing, fuel and no seat.  But forget those.

Will the bike itself be able to handle technical trail riding and a bit of jumping. (not fast fire road stuff)

I know the suspension is soft but with  the tyres pumped up a bit and me treating it like a mountain bike and using my legs and arms as extra suspension will it ruin it??

I have seen how high some of the pros drop off ledges so it must be ok at jumps and i have seen guys doing FMX on motocross ramp jumps and they seem to be ok, or are they just replacing parts all the time?

Or have they modded it in some way??

i feel like a trials bike could be a very good trail / play bike.

Anyone have any experience in this area they could give me?

Many thanks
