This was a freind of mine and a great loss, please let's not let this happen again, and stay friend with farmers and respect there land.

Just a word of warning.....the supposed owner is very miserable and hostile! This evening I went for a quiet ride and went to look at the track. I rode around the area at just over tick over to see the layout only to be confronted by a very upset chap demanding I turn my engine off so he could have a go and accuse me of wasting one of 14 days the track is allowed to open! I was very apologetic only to be snubbed! There is no gate and only a disclaimer sign with a telephone number........nothing to say visitors are not welcome!

That's the planning laws for you, he can only use it for 14 days without specific planning permission. But to be fair you shouldn't be riding on someones private land.

Don't have any gate or even signs on my front garden, but I'd be a bit hacked off if I found you riding round it hmm

Why not ring the number and ask if it is ok to have a look ?
I can see the landowners point here.

Its down a long track which "usually" has a large padlocked gate at the end of the tarmac road. Probably open due to harvesting going on in the adjacent fields. Also have you never met a farmer before, the majority are like it, lucky he didnt start firing his shotgun lol

Hey biff, It says in your original post that you drove round the AREA, do you mean round the actual track or just the surrounding roads.
If it was just the surrounding roads then you are ok and the farmer was a bit ott, but if you were on his land without permission, track or no track you could have been in big trouble and the farmer has every reason to be well and truly hacked of.

This is the end of the road where the lane to the track starts. Its a dead end road that finishes at the a30 so theres noway of going on surrounding roads

Hi all I know the farmer in question he is ok when you get to know him.(went to school with him)it is a good track but has a lot of jumps not for the beginner. It cost £10 for am or pm ride. But you must ring him to book or he will shoot you lol.

Any idea how many riders allowed per session?

I rode this track when I first started laning. A few mates took me along & I really enjoyed myself but I would rather not ride it with loads of MX-ers roosting me at every turn.

Getting enough riders & booking the track has been talked about before on this forum but i'm not sure if it came to anything.

Went here yesterday with a couple mates. Mark (the owner) was a nice chap and a good laugh. Was my first time on a track and he kept seeing how I was getting on and having a joke around. Also took a mate that had never been on a bike before so he let him learn in one of his fields. Sunday evening is the best time to go if you want it quiet. I was there 4-7 and everybody there was friendly.
