AGM

I was thinking, with the agm looming, which committee members are up for re-election and which posts will become vacant.

Many thanks, Robin.

The only positions i know off is the 'chairmans' position being up for grabs and fund raising/events, 'lost' is on that position as long as he gets the vote wink

Nothing has been discused as far as i know about who's staying and who is going on other seats/positions but what do i know (don't answer that one biggrin)

If you think about it any position is up for grabs if someone wants to be nominated before the AGM and have a seconder and they recieve a greater number of votes!

but the chances of loads of volunteers being put forward for officers roles is a bit like saying the councils will be reversing all TRO's winkbiggrinbiggrin

PR as well, if anyone is keen, I don't mind.

I may be corrected but I think every position is up for grabs, just needs a proposer & seconder then it goes to the members (on the night) vote.

It would be great to have some new blood putting themselves forward. The current officers have done (& continue to do) a fantastic job & I in no way mean any disrespect to any of them but sometimes roles have been continued only because no one else would take them on. I do PR for DTRFG but only really because no one else wanted to. I'll do it next year as well, but if anyone else wants a go I'll happily step aside (& probably put myself up for a different role wink).

A vote is really only needed when there is more than one candidate.

If anyone wants to receive Definitive Map Modification Order consultation paperwork then I would be delighted to pass on the role of Auto Cycle Union Statutory Consultee. (Not strictly speaking a TRF officer role but might as well be).

It really is very satisfying to be able to say to a lying NIMBY who claims a way has been downgraded "The County Council are obliged by law to consult me on such matters, they have not done so and you sir are a liar!"

Below is the text from the original AGM thread.

Tis that AGM time again.

12 months on its time for our annual plea to get you the members to attend the 2012 AGM.  Last year roughly 10% of the membership managed to show up despite a pretty decent free raffle and a pre meeting Xmas meal with yer riding mates. Despite being vey frustrating to those who do care how the group is ran, this is not enough to fairly represent the thoughts and opinions of the membership as a whole.

So lets try again this year. The AGM is your opportunity to voice your opinion on all aspects of how the group you pay to join conducts itself during the next 12 months as well as reflecting on the last 12 months.

For those new to the group;  Every TRF group is ran by committee, yes its a little antiquated but as we are a organisation ran by volunteers who hold your money, it is the only truly democratic way to operate.

The running order for the evening will be something along the lines of;

·         2012 officer reports, this gives a pretty accurate summery of all our activities for the year (approx 3-5 minutes from each officer).

·         Nominations and presentation for officers for 2013.

·         Any other business.

·         Free Raffle.

Regarding officers for 2013, it was noted at the AGM 2012 that some officers are coming the end of their last year. This gives Devon group chance to move forward with fresh faces at the helm with fresh ideas. However new faces standing up on the night voted for by a small amount of attendees is not necessarily a good idea, therefore nominations must be made and seconded previous to the AGM where possible.

This also goes for points of any other business. Any member wishing to raise and discuss a subject must submit an outline and be present on the night

Please note, all submissions should be proposed by FRIDAY 30TH NOVEMBER.  The reason for this is simple; to keep the meeting moving and to help structure the running order and fill in as many blanks as possible before the meeting.

It has become kind of tradition for members to get together before the AGM and enjoy some festive treats, The Dolphin has a excellent Xmas menu running throughout December with a 3 course meal for £17.95, Land lord Rob will also do a reduced cost two course meal for £12.50 alternatively the existing bar menu is available. For those that wish to eat; can you please call The Dolphin on 01626 832413 and book a table, please state you are eating with Devon TRF and be in the bar ready to eat by 6.30.

So Guys, if you have any opinions as to how we run Devon group please attend and make your thoughts known. There is absolutely no point bleating to your mates or on forums about issues that bother you, or for that matter sitting on a corker of an idea that members might love.

Support your officers, let them know you care and please make every effort to turn up on Tuesday 11th December 8.00pm (6.30pm for food)

For nominations or AOB,Please e-mail stevemarcliff001@btinternet.com
