Tie downs (50 shades of Red)

What does everyone use for tieing down bikes in vans/trucks?

What is best?  Any product to avoid?

Thanks

Sill love the X-Straps - most convenient method ever.

Easy peasy in a pick up.

2 straps, through the frame above the footpegs. I use 2 short loops, cut from an old ratchet strap and tied in a knot, and 2 karabiners, straps through the krabs. Pick a hook on the truck slightly forwards, pull em down tight. Driven possibly thousands of miles with mine like that, never moved an inch.

Pulls out and down, so doesnt compress the foks at all.

Tried various places on the bike , around the yokes, bars, over the seat etc. Nothing works as well or is as easy to set up.

Saw some nice orange ratchet straps on the Tewkesbury KTM dealership yesterday!

Thanks for the response.  I had seen that xstrasp thread when it was current but had ignored as I had no need.  How times change.....

I'll start with Dolly and what I've already got, bought in 1995 in Harare to hold my rucksack together.

No I didn't meet a girl called Dolly but once you've had b**** you never go back.  True so far.
