Justin is an excellent mechanic and very sought after. Due to this he can often take on a little more work than he can deal with, and works bloddy long hours to try and stay on top of it all. Generally between Jan and March all the Mx racers send their engines to him for a last minute pre-race rebuild, so this can be a very busy time of year. I have never known him give false promises, I just think he tries to keep everyone happy. I do find in order to get jobs complete you need to ring him frequently and explain the urgency and ask for progress reports. I do feel those that shout loudest and often get the preferred attention when its real busy. So politely ring him every 3 days until job done. And......even though he is busy...... his quality of work does stay good - I havent known him cut corners just to get more work completed.

Hope that helps.

If you were adamant you wanted an alternate repairer - KevDoyle has given you 'swampys' details - you could also use Dave Shears who runs PCMP (the MX practice track at Plymouth). He has years of experience in this field and does all the rebuilds and servicing on his son Darren's bike (who is in the top 3 SW experts at MX racing). He does this repair service from home (he has 2 garages and full workshop tools/equipment) and as a business. Generally much cheaper than a dedicated repair shop - and doesnt take on 20 jobs at once. Call Dave on 07812 392843

Hope thats helps v2

We will have the workshop finished this week (with a bit of luck) lol and our spanner twirler will be in ASAP. Blatant plug. Lol. We are not the same size as Gibbs who tbh is ace and is remapping my bike next week but offer sim services. Even mot services. . Don't want to take work away from Gibbs in anyway but we are in Exeter so a bit closer to some and have a Honda ktm Yamaha and pretty much the rest of them trained man ready to twirl those spanners. Lol

alright chaps quick break thought i best update this

someone on here drove into justins workshop this morning and said we are on here slating him!! so he got his wife to check the thread out, now in no way was this thread meant to be a witch hunt i was just asking opinions, and from what i have read here nobody is slating him ?? not sure why his wife would tell him that. also someone rang him pretending to be me today ?? where i am working i can't ring anyone.he has offered to go in tomoz and put the engine back together (good of him) but i dont need him to do that as i am not back yet, remember this has been going on since january the amount of races i have missed not to mention practice days is unreal, but the blame is being put on the replating company even though he told me 2 weeks ago the barrel is back and "were cooking on gas i'll start it tomarrow" he told my other half today (yes he rang her not happy about this thread) that the barrell is only back in today (now white lies are quite popular it seems) swampy and dave at pcmp are highly reccomended as said i like to keep everything local but were comming into 4 months now for a simple 2t rebuild. i certainly wont be back or reccomending him no matter how good he is

I wouldn't hesitate in recomending Gibbs Performance! 2 full engine rebuilds on 2 & 4 strokes with a good price and turnaround. Even helped me out with a sticky situation I had with Albion.

Top man in my book, always does a first class job and never too busy to chat and explain things. I wouldn't trust many but leave my bike at his place without having to worry. Poor bugger can't get it right every time, who can?
