I have just had a look at this www.bywaymap.com i thought that we had lots of lanes in Devon, but looking at this Marlborough and Salisbury and surrounding ares have s**t loads. Anyone been round there and do i need to book a holiday?? as it looks good to me.
We do have lots of lanes, mostly UCRs. Byways account for about 10% of our lanes.
Marlborough and Salisbury have a lot of Byways, and proportionally fewer UCRs.
Good if you like deeply rutted chalk.
I think gruff and i are going exploring that way in august time, we have done the plain lots so it would be good to extend the area, the only problem is not knowing the true status of these lanes until you try and ride them.
