I find deep frying with chips, a light covering of salt and vinegar, wrap in newspaper and they travel quite easily.biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Hi Doug Get 2 large plastic bags place one inside the other. Put 4-6 inches of pond water in bag, add fish, tie top of bag making sure there is plenty of oxygen in it. Then put the bag in a cardboard box and keep dark.

For more sensible answers maybe you could try a fish forum rather than a motorcycle one?

That makes more sense, i do have a old plastic loft tank which i could use, where could i get very large plastic bags from ? the water tank i want to use is about 3x2x3 feet.

Your local Council depot might have some large heavy duty bags. They have some unsavoury tasks to accomplish sometimes. Take some biccies for their coffee corner?

This thread has reminded me that when I was running with DMC I was asked to courier a live fish from a fish farm near Honiton I think to a laboratory in Northampton.  All I was handed was a shoebox size cardboard package which felt like it had water in it (when shaken vigorously ;). I collected, I delivered and I got paid, so I presume it was still alive when it got there.  Probably my weirdest consignment unless you count the silk ties for a wedding the next day from Colyton to Liverpool.

Ive got some new very large heavy duty bags you can borrow - but my suggestion about a cool box was sensible, Ive used them for keeping fish with a battery aerator. What ever you do you have to try and stress them as little as possible.
