11 digit vin / frame number

Hi 

I recently bought a RM 125 in need of repair.  

 

I'm trying to order some parts and therefore need to establish the year of manufacture.  My problem is that my vin number located on the frame is 11 digits rather than the usual 17.  Am I right in thinking that vins are different on a none road legal bikes.  I have tried lots of online vin decoders but no joy.

 

Can anyone help?

Does it look as though it used to have 17 digits?

What is the 10th?

No its stamped on the frame and there doesn't appear to be any tinkering.... with the frame itself. The last number or digit 10 is 7.

Not sure why you don't have 17 digits unless it is pre 1981?

What year do you think it is?

I thinks it's about 2000 - 01 - however as we know looks can be deceiving. I'm not too worried about the age as it seems mechanically sound, I got it cheap and it's a project, I just need the year for the parts order.

The first 4 digits are RF14A

According to that pdf RF14A is 1989-1995 inclusive.
