CRF250X

Fresh off the boat, on its way from Honda UK to Doble now, this afternoon.  Just waiting for Doble to get the invoice from Honda UK/HMRC proving/accepting that VAT, import duty etc. has been paid, then the NOVA process can be completed by DVLA and then it is only a phone call away from me.

Heard good things about the Acerbis hard plastic ones. Alot less noise resonance than the metal ones

Wasn't in stock, fresh off the boat. School holidays now so can't really ride it anyway, so no rush.

Aren't road registered as standard and all the NOVA paperwork takes time now that they have closed the local DVLA offices.  Last one Doble had sat in the showroom for 3 months which meant the paperwork took even longer as HMRC were concerned were it had been for that length of time.

Nothing in post so it will be the genteel 87 CR250. New boots though so that will make the difference to my ability.

Surely if dobles registered it and you have insurance you are legal whether you have the docs on your hand or not???

Just get and ride the bloody thing.

Technically yes but I don't have a reg plate or even a number,  tax disc or any docs to prove it.  Rules is rules as far as TRF Fundays go. smile

Anyway, I have already ridden it. I have a legit bike to to throw at Hazelwood.  No rush as it still looks nice and shiny, which won't last long.

I'm not in a position to take the pis*.

Should be at Smeatharpe with something.....

Utter nonsense !

If all dealers bike or car made such a hash of things there would be no new vehicles on the road. I'd be asking for some form of compensation as its been going on for ages.

Nothing to do with Dobles.  DVLA....

Having said they were happy with the information provided they wanted more, which Dobles provided.

Compensation for what?  I'm not bovvered, school holidays and then I'm under the knife in September so no rush.

Boobs are fine as they are thanks.  I'm having an arthroscopy on my buggered arthritic knee. Half exploration, half bits of floating knee cap removal. Too young for a knee replacement but if I was twenty years older they would offer me one.  Tis why I wear knee braces; to stop my knee popping out.

As we were changing after Hazelwood, I glanced round and saw you starting to remove your outer garments, so I averted my gaze to prevent premature blindness!jawdrop.gif

Next time I looked in your direction, I saw you already had your bike loaded in the pickup and wondered if you had done that on your own.shocked.gif

Next time gie'us a shout and I'll lend my not inconsiderable weight and help push up the ramp.laughing.gif

Can't have a broken old git struggling on his own when there's help available. Sorry I was not more attentive.ohmygod.gif

I was probably in yada yada mode!biggrin

In case you hadn't guessed, I love smileys, sad git that I am!no

Thanks, I did have a 'catcher' but I can do it on my own as long as I remember to take my knee braces off first.

Love the bike.  Thanks to Cpn Paul for setting up my suspension as soon as I got there.  MX section was great fun.  Woods felt like a combination of Apocalypse Now and Deliverance but I was very glad of the electric start button.  If that was the Easy route I need more practice.

Went on to reserve on the way home at Sidford, luckily the lights were on red! biggrin

Few scratched panels and a dinked header pipe - if only I hadn't gone against my inner voices and gone down to the woods today......no teddy bears either!

Fill the header pipe with water and freeze overnight, works a treat.

Went for the Acerbis sump guard.  One bolt fitting as it clips onto the other downtube and it hooks over the back of the frame.

Cycra handguards should be delivered today, happy with the original grips, the underside of the engine has been acfed the rest duck oiled.

First oil & filter change at 160Km.

Bought a litre of Comp 4 SX from CMS.  Didn't even mention TRF and the guy said "What is your TRF number"! 10% discount, thank you.

Cheaper than anything I could see on tinternet.
