Sold the KTM 300 EXC and got this little beauty ! Always had a soft spot for the xrs there's just something about the old school simplicity of them I love . The KTM was the best bike I've ever had for off road riding but its road manners were the worst !cant blame it really as its a full on compertition bike . I do a few LDT s so while the KTM excels in the sections the road work in between can be a bit tedious as it just wants to go !! Ive had 4 xrs now a brand new 400r in 2003 then a 1998 250l jap import e start one then one of the last a 2005 400r (should of kept that one !) and now I couldn't resist this 250r as its only done 300 miles from new !! She won't look like this on Sunday as I'm introducing her to mud for the fist time at Hazelwood !I've put a MT43 on the back and changed the oil ,would like a aftermarket tail pipe (see wanted post) nothing too loud just to make it breathe a bit better any suggestions? but will try the vw beetle tail pipe mod for now .Then i need to get Renthals and some wrap around hand guards .See you all on Sunday .
It'll be a shock for it ! I will try not to trash it I do like a clean mint off road bike (look at my old ktm300 in the for sale posts)it'll be washed ,polished and oiled by Monday and back in the garage for a rest
