leisure batteries

Should be okay for that. The fridges can take quite a bit of power if only on 12 volt and are not particularly effective, the gas ones work very well on gas, the best being a 3 way gas/mains/ battery the battery feature is really only for travelling between sites.

Locally I use Chelston electrical but since you are up the road quite a bit would suggest local camping centres or auto electric factor

Leisure batteries are good at holding a charge and take the deep cycling effect placed on them by this type of use, but try to avoid them going completely flat.

Hi all, need a bit of basic help and recommendations for a leisure battery.

Tis for our folding caravan and would be to keep a little fridge ticking over and water pump for sink, couple of lights etc. Just when were not hooked up.

Plansto only try it out for a weekend at a time for a while so hoping a charged (at home)  leisure will do thetrick, butthis is new territory for me so advice and ideas welcome. Also placeto get one for sensible pennies would help

Thanks as ever.I

Yes, get the leisure battery for this.

Don't make the mistake many people make by leaving your car battery running it overnight. You'll be cursing whilst pushing the car next day!

Ask me how i know!

Fill the fridge up with frozen bottles of water before you leave, so it will already be cold when you power it up.

Hi. if it has a grey plug to connect to the car it will more than likey only work on 12V if the car is connected

They are designed to work that way because they use alot of juice on 12v.

depending how it is wired anyway. could be anything in there i suppose

i have 4 secondhand 110a leisure batterys here in honiton if you want a cheep battery?

or all 4? that would sort you right out i guess

It's where I bought wobbly box last year, Martins been around for years (early childhood memories of hired campervans from them over 40 years ago, bloody hell, that makes me feel old disbelief).

If they (or their staff) were no good, they wouldn't have lasted.
