Just been on the DTRF Yahoo Forum,  Just wondering why the home page features a guy on a push bike cycling up some rocks??????

I think nobody uses the Yahoo forum any more, but the yahoo e-mail address is retained as a secure means of disseminating information to the group. I haven't used it for so long they have deactivated and recycled my account. This forum serves the group far better than the yahoo one ever did.

Not sure how or why a bicycle ever became pictured.

What was the point of having two forums?

The Yahoo forum was for more matters that we didn't want putting on here (e.g. RoW), before we had private areas of this forum.

The answer is revealed in the history of the group embracing the digital age.

The Yahoo forum provided a way to communicate before the Open forum came along offering ways of doing things unavailable with Yahoo.

The Yahoo forum was not as well laid out as the Activeboard Open forum and the relative ease of use of the Open forum means that the main lasting legacy of the Yahoo forum is the group e-mail address, which is doubltless the reason the Yahoo forum continues to exist, albeit without a great deal of traffic apart from the e-mails within the group. Files may also be stored on the Yahoo forum for access or download but there are more convenient ways available now.

Currently the Open forum has taken over as our primary means of communication as we have a degree of privacy in as much as access to some parts of it is limited to members only.
