20th OCT - Exmoor Forest ride day questions

Can I ask a question of those who know this event?

My son and I now have a Suzuki Van Van 125 that I have made a little more green lane friendly - raised bars, bash plate, smaller front sprocket, hand guards and it has the Dunlop block tread tyres.  I know it must be capable (to a point) of going off road as some insurers refused to accept it fully comp as it is classed as an off-road bike. (Quotes were amazingly different - £250 Carol Nash to £50 Swinton)

Question - Do you think it would get round the main loop ok? I don't want to be holding people up or getting in their way.

And, is there a suitable start finish place where I could leave a topbox and a fuel can?

Finally, will everyone else just take the Michael if I show up on it?

Cheers

Snasher

P.S. I posted this originally in the events section but thought as most people read this section more I'd also ask here.

You wont have a problem, my son went to the last one one a honda xr125 with road tyres after just doing his cbt, and got around fine after letting the air out of tyres

if you can get around the loop on a c90, and we know you can, then you should be fine.

Don't know about the first 2 questions (1st one seems to be answered though) but as to the 3rd, i'd say yes most likely biggrin

Thanks all, I can cope with the pointing and laughing (happens all the time) but not the bike getting stuck in the middle of nowhere.

I shall give it a go as at least it should give me something to laugh/chat about in the pub afterwards.

I for one am taking some tow rope as its a long push back to the pits. I hope anyone in trouble can rely on a friendly gesture like this as it is a fun day, and not an event. If I see someone in need, I will definitely stop and help . I am often the one people pass thinking "why is that bike and rider up side down! " lol mark
