the 97 is a springer aint it if i remember rightly these in 177 are a top rifle for competition so for a bit of ratting a 22 will be bang on lovely rifle how much do you want for it

Ooh, drawing out all us closet if it's just for rats have you tried some of the spanish ones at trago? Or mole valley. Not a patch on the hw, but you pays your money etc

I used to have one of these, and have killed more than just rats with one. Try a magnum square coil spring cut down to fit, more power than ever needed with a short rifled barrel.

thanks but sorted now with a hw57 with a quality scope which is only a 1.77 but should do the job at close range and was only £120
what illumination are you all using in order to see what im shooting at in the dark ,without scareing the rats
