Since I've been with the TRF there has been a good warm promotion of the annual DTRF AGM (which I'm assuming is next Tuesday 10th Dec), encouraging people to go and having reservations made for a Christmas meal at the Dolphin before the fun begins.
Maybe I've missed the post but there seems to be very little publicity - other than a post listing officers postitions - which is enough to scare some off.
I'm not even sure I can make this AGM (most know I teach on a Tues evening), but I also feel if there was some good promotion on the event and it was going to be an excellent night - resulting in mates organising themselves a table etc (which it has in previous years) - then I'd see if there was any possibility I could juggle my time.
I know this takes volunteers (usually officers - sorry guyz) to set up - and know I'm not volunteering (for reasons above) - but previous AGMs have been pretty full and successful.
Just an observation - feel free to flog me if I've missed the publicity................

Following discussions posted on a recent thread (clicky) it would seem sensible to discuss Devon Groups policy on ROW issues.
It would help get a balanced view and agreements acceptable to the majority of the group with as many members as possible at the meeting.
Next month is our AGM where the past 12 months will be reviewed and officers agreed for the next 12. Both of these meetings are important for the group as a whole so so please try to attend both of them if you can.
As usual, the meetings won't be all business, come along and have a drink and a chinwag, you never know, you might enjoy it smile.
Give something back to the Dolphin hotel who provide us with an excellent meeting place free of charge by booking a table to eat beforehand. Suggest booking for 18.30 to be finished in time for the 8pm meeting.
Hear the officers reports and appreciate what has been done over the past year. Seismic changes in DTRFG's relationship with DCC this year thanks to Treadlightly. Serious acheivements on the lane clearing front. Promising TTRO news. Events galore.
Have your say in who is who in Devon Trail Riders Fellowship group during 2014. All officers are elected, unopposed if nobody else puts their name in the hat, or not if the hat comes up empty. No officers, no group, really - read the rules.
Make a difference. Be part of it.
Usually a good opportunity to have a chinwag about the past, present and future once the roles have been allotted and business is sorted, or rescheduled.
It would be great to have a packed room (at The Dolphin, Bovey Tracey on Tuesday 10th) to give as large a proportion of the members as possible the opportunity to decide the officers for the following year, and hear what has been going on throughout this year.
It would be fantastic if we could finish the evening with every officer post filled.
Before the meeting (8pm prompt) several of us will have a meal, some the Christmas menu, some food from the regular menu but nothing official is organised.
Usually people just arrange with their mates if they want to do this but the tables are normally together so everyone can enjoy the banter that is thrown about.
Once the serious stuff is out of the way we can chill out & enjoy the rest of the evening.
If you can only make one meeting a year, please make it this one.
