Grrr. Car drivers who turn right without looking.

I was fortunate not to be taken out by a driver turning right, from the left hand lane, without looking. Grrr.

Some clot did that to me and knocked me off the only new bike I've ever owned a mere month after buying it.

Much the same as the prat that had me off the harley two years ago, pulled into the left, let a couple of cars overtake and then turned right in front of me.

Me against the car not good, very sore ankle and crutches for several weeks,  Harley against Honda Accord, no contest couple of little scrapes to the harley, footpegs opened the side of the car up and the primary drive wrote the rest of it off.

Ditto, had something similar whilst on the way home from lyme bay, taxi indicated left and partly pulled over then changed his mind and turned right into a hotel driveway forcing me and misses into the hedge, nothing broken just heavy bruising, best thing he got 6 points and £300 quid oh and lost his taxi licence.

That was close, good job you had your wits about you. Do you ride with a camera recording in case of an accident Pete?

I am extra cautious at the moment as my recently broken nose is still very tender and I was leaving the hospital after debating the pros and cons of rebreaking it for cosmetic reasons, and deciding it not worthwhile, so feeling somewhat fragille I was not in any kind of a hurry. On another day I would very likely have been knocked off. I do ride with a camera recording in case of an accident. That, or a You've Been Framed moment.

I delete most of what the camera catches as an uneventful journey is of no consequence.

Specialist accident recording cameras, with a loop recording and a built in programming to save the last few minutes in the event of an accident triggered by a g-force measuring device to record impacts, are available fora few hundred quid now. I just record all and delete if nothing happens.

I go through that junction a couple of times every day and have had the same thing happen..........and I'm in a 3.5t van. If they can't see me you ain't got much chance on two wheels.confuse

Maybe because the signage isn't great you do get people in the wrong lane and rather than do a detour they think that others will see their error and allow some space.
