"Saw your car in AutoTrader" scam in Newton Poppleford/East Devon??????

My pickup is currently parked in the drive at my Mum's house.  It has been there for most of the last 4 months.

She had 2 "pikey looking" blokes snifffing around it and ringing the doorbell yesterday saying that they had seen it for sale in AT.  The "fat one" left  a name and number.

Police 101 weren't interested ("maybe they've seen it on ebay"  WTF???? *anker).  She is going to try the community policeman today.

The pickup is not for sale and is not advertised anywhere.  Even if it was it wouldn't include an address in the ad.  The only other person who may have told someone about it did not.

Anyone know of a fat bloke in a fluro jacket calling himself Mr Cooper living locally to NP?

Anybody had similar recent experiences in the area?

if possible move the pickup somewhere else for a week or two, in my experience that was a reconnaissance for a theft.

Yeh, both of the above - move it if you want it, insure it TPFT if you don't.

Get it shifted, I doubt your mum wants to deal with that kind of crap. - dodgy bastards everywhere nowadays, he didn't have a pair of rigger boots on as well as the high vis just to complete the stereotype !

Thanks for the replies.  It has been insured since long before I became a cast member of The Departed.  It is either going to be relocated to a nearby secure unit or have it's wheels removed, or both.  I'll have to bump up the insured value to 20K, just in case....
