Bongo garage near Exeter?

MOT runs out next week and I have an ABS warning light staying on. Checked leads and fluid level and can't see anything obvious.

Can anyone recommend a garage in the Exeter or Exmouth area that knows their way around a Bongo please? Preferably they need to be able to do the diagnostics.

Cheers

TTR

I think there's a Bongo garage opposite Dart's Farm.  Definitely seen plenty of Bongos outside.

That's close to me Tim but I think he is sales. Would like to know if anyone has used him and, if so, would they recommend though.

If he is selling Bongo, then chances are he know someone who mends them?
Come along Brian.
If not, give Floss a shout, at the end of the day its only a Pajero underneath, I think.
Floss has run Pajeros for years, try him, even just ring him, he will help if he can.

He has a bongo mechanic in the unit behind. Otherwise, take it to Alan in Plymouth, he is to Bongos what you are to TTR's!!

They are not Pajeros, they are ford rangers with a complex cooking system!

Which would you choose Nick?

If it is a Ford Ranger, then think Mazda?

"Other than the badge, there is no difference between a Mazda Bongo Friendee and a Ford Freda. Mazda and Ford are the same company. "

Well - I didn't know that!

A few simple things to check before paying out ...

CLICKY

You may need to be a registered user. If you aren't, I am - give me a call. Alex.

By the way, any decent garage should be able to run plug-in diagnostics for you. If you have a friendly local one, slip them a fiver and find out what it says - could save a lot in the long run.

... or you can run your own diagnostics: HERE and decode the result it using the info HERE

Bryan.
I have had both a Freda and a bongo, and there are the same apart from the bash, steering wheel and grill!
Alan's Bongo Clinic for me, he just seemed more of fix rather than replace chap.

ABS light now going out  biggrin

Initially a faulty ABS sensor was detected on the front offside. The sensors are just about impossible to remove so I agreed a second-hand hub with good sensor could be fitted.

However the ABS warning light staid on so I dropped the Bongo off to the mechanic first thing this morning and soon had a call to say a dirty connection had been found and fixed. Bongo collected and booked in for MOT at 11.30am - fingers crossed nothing else is found!

£150 for the fix seems OK to me for diagnosing the faulty sensor and replacing the front hub.

I am happy to recommend the Darts Farm Bongo garage (Joseph, Tim and mechanic Nick) now!

Thanks for the responses.

Brian
