Not 100% sure I can make it - but be good to have a change of scenery wink

A big thanks to JT and Doug for making the trip, particularly enjoyed the friendly banter from everyone, it was a lot of fun.

So what's the verdict View Ranger or Memory Map?

Id say viewranger is excellent value and good if you have a dpare phone that will take it, but MM looks good too and is a purpose built piece of kit

All us north/ west/ somewhere in devon boys use view ranger, maps are cheap and use it on your phone( no expensive dedicated device). You can load all the lanes and every route and track is at your disposal at any time. Or you can plot a new route while on the move!

View ranger all the waysmile for me anyways.

Having only just started with Memory map and not seen view ranger running all I can say is that the map's for memory map cost to much an there site is crap. that said the sat nav is a nice bit of kit I have the now made no more 3500 the screen's 3.5 inch an you can see it in sunlight an it run's on it's battery for about 8 hours so will run for the day without need of a 12v supply off the bike. they say it's waterproof I have had it out in the rain all day but no river drop so far. an i'm getting to like it don't pay there price for one keep an eye on the bay if you want one they can be had for as little as £75 for the 2800 and £120 for the 3500 not seen a 3000 2nd hand on there yet

A few tips if you do.....

1/ Take sat nav, maps, tent and rations in case you get lost trying to find Winkleigh or your way out aww

2/ Check the A3124 isn't closed before you go that way no

3/ When you get there despite seeing signs saying  Welcome to Winkleigh - look for the turning on the left saying Winkleigh or you will drive past it, out the other side and then get lost again in the fog...

4/ Check its not foggy

5/ Make sure you remember the correct Pub name, cause despite being a small place - it has two biggrin

6/ Take a very small car, motorcycle or take a big car and stout walking boots wink you will understand why when you get there

7/ Make sure you take a front door key as you will be home late and the wife may (least she told me) 'inadvertently' lock you out evileye

Do all this and you will have a great evening with some great people wink
