Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders

Had my first ride out on Sunday which has left me with a couple of questions about Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders.

First one I encountered at Tenantry Farm on Rockbourne Road...

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Rockbourne,+Fordingbridge,+Hampshire+SP6/@50.981184,-1.860562,3a,75y,280.35h,89.42t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s80lNUtkKGMBU7tacwfiG8A!2e0!4m2!3m1!1s0x48739541df1a4437:0xff98710af5e2f7b5

Says temporary but looks pretty permanent with a sign for no motor vehicles although there were some tracks suggesting this was being ignored. So being new to all this caper and trying to do the right thing I adjusted my route and didn't use the trail.

Second one was on the trail north of the A354 to Coombe Bissett

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.013712,-1.863472,3a,75y,331.12h,78.48t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1siM-oFWhyU-Aqw8GwK_52Wg!2e0

There was a sign saying there was going to be a TRO but no date saying when from so I took the trail anyway. Probably the wrong thing to do but I had to make a decision as there was a car coming. Anyway when I looked on Google maps for the link above the sign is there and seems to have been there for some time and there was no sign at the other end of the trail.

So my questions are - Is the first trail permanently closed or can you apply to have it opened or something? and is the second trail closed or not?

Not for a couple of weeks, Mothers Day spoiling my fun.

Both are visible on the links but illegible.

That location is near Salisbury - a tad distant from DEVON confuse

Try Hampshire Council at this enquiry system:- http://www3.hants.gov.uk/roads/hampshire-roadworks/roadworks-map.htm

Well spotted but you lot seem so knowledgeable and friendly I thought I would ask.

I had heard some of you ventured out of county occasionally.

Nothing on the link relating to a closure that I can see.

Dom1, perhaps this link will help CLICKY LINKY

It specifically refers to C93 BRICKHILL ROAD ROCKBOURNE NR FORDINGBRIDGE which is the first query you gave.

Devon riders do get about and are like sheep's muck - they get everywhere. bleh

I doubt, however, if they will know of TRO and Closure Orders specific to Hampshire's lanes.

You never know - I may be proved wrong in that statement.

Mrs Cubber says that I'm generally ADAMANTLY WRONG. biggrinbiggrin

Did get a photo of one of the signs when I was out on Sunday.

This one was on the trail north of the A354 to Coombe Bissett.

Looks like a seasonal Voluntary one not a TTRO as such.

I know there has been a lot of work carried out up in Wiltshire with the M.O.D. on salisbury plain along with the 'treadlighlty' crew / volunteers

There is a tel no. at the bottom of the sign if you require more info, funny there is no info on the blank spaces on the sign wink
