I think this is good one as it'll stop the government ripping us off when we buy/sell a vehicle.

Please sign & share.

Great idea.
Then they can put 5% on road tax and charge £20 to process a log book.
Do people really believe they can win?

One sure way to lose is to believe you can't win....

If it makes you feel any better they have lost millions in lost revenue since the new rules were brought in. Evasion is up to 1.4% from 0.6% a loss of 80million.

Nope, doesn't make me feel any better Dan. lol
I would just prefer that they put the right system in place at the start.
I suspect non-transferable tax was put in place to help to stop uninsured drivers but when they imposed the new system they should have addressed the issue it caused.

Actually this should have been fixed when the paper tax disk was abolished, if it had the problem would have been avoided.

Do away with it - incorperate with fuel duty.....

Those that burn the most pay the most (which will be me )

Wouldn't mind so much if they actually used this money to invest in the road network instead of giving it away to all and sundry.......

Sorry mods is that a bit to political as am a bit unsure of the rules now

Fine by me, nothing wrong with speaking the truth. Should do it the german way, pay the road tax with your insurance company. The insurance company passes it on to the treasury.

The duty is going to be ring fenced to spend on roads by the end of the decade apparently. Buts also going to be overhauled because as cars get more efficient the revenues will fall.

I can't remember the content but I read a report over the last couple of years about the road tax strategy for the next 50 - it essentially considered electric vehicles which are at present exempt from tax so it'll be interesting to see what they do with that, especially with a cheaper Tesla on the way.
