Starting problems
Problem: If you are facing problems when starting your vehicle then it is a process of elimination to find exactly what the problem is. It could be a number of things, but the main causes on these vehicles are an air lock in the fuel system, faulty fuel injectors or faulty fuel pump.
Solution: The first thing to do is to get a test done for checking if there is air getting locked in the system and this is the cheapest option. If this is not the problem, then get your fuel injectors checked out. It will be cheaper to get the faulty injector reconditioned rather than buy a new one. Again, if this is not the problem then you will have to check the fuel pump and have a new one fitted if this is the issue. Well within the budget that British Car Auctions generally get for ex aa / rac vehicles. High mileage but well serviced.
