Wulfsport knee pads rub - what to do?

I've had some of these hinged knee pads..

Trouble is the rub my knee caps pretty badly as the the cloth covering on the internal padding is pretty rough. So I tend to use my old ones that are pretty knackered now.

Anyone else have these..., if so how do you live with them?

I think I need to cover the inside with some material that is a little less rough... but what to use?

I have similar designed hinged knee pads but wear them over race jeans or long johns and underneath leggings biggrin

That also stops the straps chafing...

I find tubular compression stocking stuff (available free at A&E by falling off) to be just the job and removes the need to wear the knee pads on the outside of your waterproof pants.

Sorry, trousers.

I think you're right Tim, I'm gonna need something like that.

@TTR It's not the straps that chaf, or not yet at least, haven't managed to wear them for more than a couple of lanes.
It's the fabric that is over the internal padding, it looks very nice but puts scotch bright to shame!

These or similar https://www.dirtbikexpress.co.uk/product/oneal_knee_brace_sleeve_-_black

They may cost more than Tubigrip, but they do the job better. They are the right size/shape, they don't wrinkle like Tubigrip, you can wash 'em and they don't fray

They fit well enough Doug, super comfy and are a one size fits all deal anyway.
They are obviously not matching my skin movement 100% as there is some rubbing with movement but not a great deal.
The problem is the internal padding cover material, it's hard wearing to the point of being aggressive media.

As a compromise between the super cheap tubular bandages and the expensive Oneal sleeve I've just bought 2 of these.

I'll let you know what they're like, but you might have wait a while as I ride so often..no

I brought a Lycra type air wicking top bottoms for exact same problem, excellent with knee pads and my long sleeved body armour. keeps the sweat away, and armour doesn't rub, looks better than cut off rugby socks under knee pads.
ps looking to sell my knee pads as above, £10. if any takers. hardy used.

I just use a pair of old Frank Thomas leather bike trousers with the built in plastic knee protectors. The current pair have lasted 14 years and were second hand from ebay at £30. Totally waterproof too.
