kx 500 aircooled carb needed

any info on where I could find a carb for a 1983 kx500.......bought a barn find but no carb on it ...any info would be greatly apreciated

Do you know which carb it had fitted?

can't find an 83' but the 84' carb is kawasaki part number 150011085

Sorry i don't know, i can't find a parts diagram for the 83, 84 is the oldest i can find. If you shoot allens an email they will probably know

If you don't mind splashing the cash, I can seriously recommend buying a new Lectron carb. I have them on both my 390 Husky's. Awesome

I've got a nearly new Mikuni VM38 in the workshop. Took it off when I fitted the Lectron. But it is jetted for the 390 Husky. Any use ?

depends on how much realy ...I have been recommended now to get a mikuni pwk carb which although not original would work a lot cleaner

A PWK should work fine. Have a word with someone that uses one and see what their opinion on jetting is. Nick Lane springs to mind.
