I have just recently purchased a nice little crf 230 , which I am getting ready for trail riding , a few questions for any 230 owners. how many miles can I expect from a tank of fuel .? And any thing I should look out for / check with this model before I get out there and use it , I have not as yet seen any bad reports on these bikes and they seem to be a very capable trail bike

Fuel range of mine 2007 model is

100 miles easily without going onto reserve.

The only week point I have found is the Rear suspension linkage to shock  has roller bearings with no grease nipples, needs stripping and greasing

I have also just recently bought a crf230, and I'm finding it very good for trail riding 

Last week i done 95 miles before going on to reserve! 

Mine has a hagon rear shock and a kuoba lowering link,

The standing position is a bit strange as the handle bars and footpegs are too close together 

All in all after a lot of exc's and Freeride's ect i wish I had this little bike years ago!

I have still got it at the moment , but it will be up for sale when the crf is ready , going back to a 4t as I prefer riding them , the beta was my first 2T ,

I've had mine from new, 100 miles + per tank, Ive just used mine in Morocco, love it.IMG_0435.JPG

Sounds good I will take a look , Jacks riding in Morocco would be a dream smile I New they were popular bikes but until I started to look for one I didnt realise just how hard it was to find a good one , I will post up a picture when I have finished it biggrin

              lucky you!!!  Thats one of the mods i would realy like to do,

             I think that the rear brake is the biggest weak point

Its a 2009 Rich it didnt look like that when I got it Its surprising how a bit of spit and polish and a few bolt on goodies can transform the look

 To each his own. I thought the before pics look very nice and the sweet lines of the bike have been disguised by the new look graphics with different styles on swing arm, rear mudguard, tank and fairing. Isn't diversity wonderful.

I wonder if you have used a rack on a trail bike before Kevin? I thought it a good idea until I had caught my heel on it dismounting and fallen over dragging the bike on top of me a few times.

As you say pete each to there own ,that's why we were all born different , I have had a rack on my last three bikes and never had a problem falling off by catching my leg on them , but i normally find some other way of falling off biggrin

 Thanks mate I found them on eBay not over expensive saying I had to get them from the USA  good quality though
