A bikes 1st MOT date - will their "system" know?

My bike is coming up for its first MOT soon (3 years old).

When I do the online checker it says that it holds no information on the MOT. confuse

If I take it in before the date of 1st registration will the MOT start from the proper date (hence the MOT system does actually know when it should start) or will it start from the date of the test?

MOT tester or a main dealer might be the best person to ask.

Good question. And when you buy, for example, an ex-Dave Thorpe Honda, does MOT date 3 years from first registration (which is going to be some time after it was first used if spent time in a School) - manufacture date - or sold date ? (are non road-registered bike sales recorded in some way?)

Seems that for the 1st MOT you set the date, but it can be no later than 3 years after date of first registration... so I shall wait until then. wink
