Three of us (OR MORE IF ANYONE WANTS TO JOIN US) are hoping to organise a week of riding the TET next year, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OF THIS?? What area to do, camping, B&B ETC ETC
Not yet but will be doing the Spanish TET from south of Santander in September.
We have wimped out (as an OAP) and have hotels / hostels booked.
Two of the group have done the Pyrenees TET last year, if you would like to get in touch with them let me know.

Did a largely off road route across the pyrenees from Santander to the Mediterranean coast of france a few years back, took over a week to do it on adv bikes. Fab though and recommend it.

10 days last year, another lot very soon, and another lot not long after that.
We did Newhaven to Dieppe, then TET down towards Toulouse.
Pretty much easy ride.
Camp sites stupidly cheap, everywhere. Just ride the trail, when tired use your phone app, never more than a couple of miles.

Did a week in the Pryrennes last year and I agree was brilliant, so got the taste for it now.
What would be a good route in Europe, is there such a thing as a circular route for 5 days riding ,as would look at leaving a van and riding from there and back to the van , but don't want to ride for 2.5 days in one direction and then turn round and head back ? Just asking as not looked too much into it as yet and if someone could give some advice would be much appreciated
You already have, but print off the total area that you are interested in.
Dont overstretch / make deadlines, other than the ferry home!!
We did 10 days, no expectations re distance to cover etc, other than aiming for the Pyrenees.
We did 8 to 10 hours a day riding, absolutely fantastic, but we didnt get as far as we, possibly, expected.
This was no issue whatsoever for us but be realistic when planning.
I would budget between 120 and 200 miles max.
Im not saying you cant do more but it aint a race!
We just landed at Dieppe and travelled as far as we could along the TET, 2 days back to ferry on roads. (sat nave set at "No motorways / trunk roads).
This ended up as a fantastic couple of days on brilliant bike roads.
IMHO, better to make sure careful prep re all weathers, possible breakdown etc is covered.
Then just start wherever, do your number of days, either circular or haul it back whichever.
More importantly, if you dont do it this year, there is always next and the one after etc.
It is truly a Bug, do it!!
I have booked ferry to France 18th April return 22nd through the tunnel ,intend to ride to dover B&B booked & will ride back to Salisbury or further if weather good.
September Spain no plans other than enjoy and ride . The little Honda rally managed Ruggerdon today 70 mls round trip still strong
Next year will also look to go south ,but intend to do some more of the UK if anyone else is up for it

What bikes were you on Richard - I am presuming big adventure/dual sport bikes??
I built a CCM 644, did the job perfectly BUT still too heavy. Ive just bought a CRF250 rally, think it will be perfect for my next trip. SimonP bought one and is off in April, they are the best option in our opinions. To be honest 99% top of France you could probably get by with an R1 on nobblies, but loaded you cant pick it up loaded.

Yep, getting the right bike must be the key.
I've currently got the choice of my Beta x-trainer - nope, or my son's KTM 990 Adventure which I can't pick up even unloaded. Bugger!
