Advise on starting a 2 stroke after a two year break.

Due to a variety of reason T have not started my KTM 250 2 stroke for about 2 year. I want to start riding it again. Was going to put fresh petrol with two stroke oil in. Clean spark plug and then fire it up (battery is fine) All good? or should I do something else, just thinking about getting oil into the cylinder because after 2 years I guessing it would be very dry? Any advice?

Nick, I'd have the carb off and clean the float bowl out with carb cleaner.

Take the spark plug out and with a little oil down the hole and inlet, spin it over a few times.

Back together with new fuel/oil mix, it should be OK.

I can probably pop around Tuesday afternoon/late Wednesday to give a hand if you want.

Bloody hell, I've never seen a KTM start first time on the button - perhaps it only happens once every 2 years biggrinbiggrin
