I have found the quads very much slower than the two wheelers, in part because of the problems caused them by narrow single track ways.
It would be a good thing for everybody if there were more slightly wider machines using the lanes as it will keep the over growth back and make the ways more pleasant for all.
Only 202-020 springs to mind as out of bounds because of the bollards but you should be ok on most lanes even those with warnings about only 6"6' width as you will be somewhat slimmer.

Not selling the 690 just yet, but fancy trying something a little different.
Not sure what the non Jap ones are like, but looking at a Yam 450 Kodiak this weekend.
My son has a Yamaha grizzly 660 with power steering.Ive been out with him on the lanes and was impressed with how fast he goes on it.It will climb over and go up rough terrain with ease.
power steering is well worth having if you like rattling on.Also independent rear suspension makes a big difference.
stay away from Chinese makes as they seem less reliable.
Im hopeing to get a Grizzly when I finish building my garage..
