Rest in peace Pete.

Just found out about this yesterday

He lived in the village and I saw him in the pub on a regular basis.  He always had a smile and a joke, you knew when Pete was there.

Glad I knew him, some people are just the guys you ride with, some wear hats they don't take off, some lean on their bikes when they take a rest

Some have memorable character who feature in the moments you remember that make you glad you were there, a snap from the lunch stop at Whiddon Down

Lunch at Whiddon down.jpg

and for the record I did not take this photo nor caption it as I am the guy in the grey helmet whom he is pointing at, photo is captioned KLEENEX IS A TEAPOT.

Petes funeral was packed today, as you would expect for someone so young.

The tributes echoed what you would already know if you knew him. You often find out things you didn't know about a person when you attend their service of thanksgiving.  It was no surprise to find out that everyone thought he was just a genuinely nice bloke.

The motorcycle outriders for the cortège was a lovely touch and greatly appreciated.

It was a fitting tribute to Pete.

Thoughts are with his family and friends.

sad day

Trevor

Sorry to hear of the passing of Pete.
I have only just found out about the funeral, so not able to attend.
I remember when Pete first made contact with me. I believe it was when he moved to this area, and we went out trail riding. A good strong rider and genuinely a good guy to be with. Pete YOU will be greatly missed. John.

Took the long way back to the wake after leaving the cortège at Penn Inn and visited the last place myself and Hoc had seen Pete riding on T2T, 202-052

RIP Pete, as Trevor says, no surprise to find tributes confirming what we all knew, a genuinely nice bloke.

What an honour and privilege it was to have known and ridden with that grumpy northern sod.

He tried his best to teach me how to ride, and when times were tough in my private life he was there with patient support and guidance.

His funeral service showed that he was a man of many talents, loved and respected by a great many people from all walks of life.

Pete was truly one of the good guys and I miss him terribly.

Now let's ride...
