I nearly turned yellow yesterday.

For one fleeting hour or so of madness I almost purchased DRZ 400 on fleabay.

I had a mind to have something a little bigger cc wise than the KTM that would cope better on the longer haul without needing a engine rebuild every other lamp post.

Was a S model, so not the prefered E. A 2003 but had many new parts and mods done for greenlaning including plastic tank and the lightway rear sub, had a truckload of spares with it including rads and new pads, chain sprockets tyres monster graphics etc, and low miles at 3300 and only at Yeovil.

I didn't think it was too bad for £1650. Got outbid by............

0.03p

Gah, been hammersniped methinks.

So if any one has an electric start bike that doesn't need a mini crane to lift it up and can do the miles I might be interested. Budget currently is up to 2k.

Its a second machine to the KTM btw, just need something a little more sedate and less highly strung than the 280 for longer easier ride outs that might require carting some luggage around and involve more road work.

I know, I know.

Its not a defection to the otherside, more a  "need a tractor now and then"

Might save up and get an LC4 though. wink

There was a KLX650 on another website the other day. Big enough for overland adventures but no idea if it has electric start or whether you'll end up like sweaty Longman by kicking it....

Well you can have a thoroughbred with all its upkeep, or you can ride a dobbin.biggrin

Somewhere in between for long haul I feel.
