Diesel Adventure Bike from India!!

Bombay Mix - Deisel Adventure Bike from India

And that's the background to the motorcycle were talking about here, the Altius Scimitar 670 Diesel, which is set to launch in India in 2012. What you get is essentially the enduro frame of a Kawasaki KLR650 mated to a 670cc multifuel diesel engine designed by HDT.

It's an indirect diesel engine hooked up to a five speed manual gearbox, the engine is slow revving but good for about 33 Bhp and the torque output is 54 Nm.  Altius claims to achieve 96mpg at a constant 56mph giving a potential tank range of 408 miles. The price of the Altius Scimitar 670 is set to be around £2400.

No idea what it'll perform like in the real world, but it looks way better than I expected from the title of your thread!

True Harty but it doesn't make it light tho does it?! 3 1/2 hundredweight is heavy in my book, I doubt I'd be able to get out from under it unaided!

Especially with a diesel.

You can use your collection of bent conrods for tyre levers.
