Fitting new crank case seals (2 Stroke)

I'm making progress on the IT project and will add an update shortly, but I'm having a bit of trouble fitting new seals with the crank in situ.  I'd normally use an appropriate sized socket but in this case the seal is bigger than my 30mm socket (largest I have) and the crank gets in the way .....  has anyone got any tricks they use to fit them?  Its at time like this a lathe would be useful!

you could try some plastic sink waste pipe comes in 32mm or 40mm,Cut it off nice and square should be strong enough to tap the seals in.

Waste pipe works on forks a treat.
How big is the seal and also crank diameter/ length proud of the casing?

I'd prefer something thicker than waste pipe, and they are about fifty five mm diameter (sorry five key still not working!) Crank sticks out about 2 inches ( fifty mm)

2" waste with a joining coller glued on and cut back!

I've got some 48mm tube with a 5mm wall if you want a bit?

Not enough room around the seal to do it properly

Its for the Yamaha IT 400D, not really enough room around the casing and crank to use the old seal, but the post about 2" pipe got me thinking, and Ive just come back from B and Q with a collar for 50mm mini guttering, which looks like it will do the trick!
