Devon Classic Scramble meeting DTRF in Action!

Note for your diaries, the last Devon Scramble of the season is this coming weekend at Holmsleigh Farm, Monkton . Honiton . EX14 9NP

Grouty and I will be there .... if I've recovered after the Doset Scramble on Sunday  wink - boy was that knackering!  This was my second race and I was put in Twinshock B, I didnt realise this was a grading system!!  I couldn't work out why I looked like the oldest on the starting line!!  Duh.... I'd have been better in C or D!

Boy were those lads quick, I haven't ridden that fast over dirt before but the Yam did me proud, needless to say after the first lap I was at the back, picking up a place or two as others fell off! I think I was almost last in every race biut I wasnt lapped and didnt fall off !!  Got to speed up my cornering, but I'm a chicken and those track markers look like they hurt!

Anyway ... see you on Sunday!

Dan

Just about all prep'd after Dorset. Oils changed, exhaust welded and all re-sealed (pain !). The megaphone likes to crack at the bracket. It was all made from 18swg steel 38 years ago !
Just need to strip and clean the carb, pull the wheels off and clean the brakes (poxy old magnesium).

Looking forward to the last race of the season. New track and all that.
Let's hope Dan's prowess with the video has moved on ........... (nuff said eh !)

Bet you've just had to wash the Yam then !

No, unfortunately!! I had to clean and re oil the air filter, adjust the chain, take off the rear wheel and straighten up the inner tube, change the numbers from 717 to 111, tightened up the fork bolts replace the missing chain slider mount bolt and fit the new pipe and silencer!

Just found this:

Track Location
Best accessed from A35.
At the top of the hill after leaving Honiton on A35, turn left when rd levels off , into Hutgate Road . Continue to T junction with Old Chard Rd. Turn right & continue to wood yard on right. Then turn left into Holmsleigh Rd. This takes you straight to the track.
If approaching from Dorchester on A35, turn right at TOP of the hill before decending into Honiton. If you go down the hill, you have gone too far !

But I think you can get there from the A30 just dont get lost!

...... Home knackered nursing a poorly bike! First race I did 3 things I hadnt done before, I widened the track by taking out a post (my mudguard didn't like that! Then I had a mini badger but finally I think the bike nipped up so I retired, which was a shame as was running fairly well and not at the back! But boy was it hot! Anyway a few pics to be going on with.

Great day tho and thanks to Bob and JT for the help refitting my silencer (fell off in practice!) and a hand to Doug as the cool marshal on the track!!

Cracking day !
Order of the day for me was crap starts !
Track was superb. The hills were rougher than a badgers hind quarters. But it was good.
I think my best result was 6th in the last race.
Good to see Doooooogie and Bob.
Off for an early night now.....

The man no one could beat was a good rider and his bike cost £13.000 to make !! nono
