Our particular favourite is the Inn on the Quay - right in front of the beach itself. Not exactly home cooked traditional British pub food, more like your up-to-date Wetherspoon-type selections but the food is pretty good.
There is also The Waterside pub in the village itself, but to be honest I havent ate there recently and prefer the other one.
Other than that there are plenty more heading into Paignton itself (a nice walk along the coast path) but havent tried those myself so cant really comment.
I shall probs be in the Inn on the Quay on Saturday night.
