Hello my lovelys!!! i could do with some assistance on deciding if i should get a XT 660X, been looking on the reviews and very mixed opinions about this bike. Looking for a bike to have a bit of fun on but also to be able to do some motorway if i had to, so has anyone had first hand expirience? look forward to hearing from you all, cheers. Ads.

You wouldnt need to, you could sit down and admire the red speedblocks!

A workmate of mine owned one and never had a bad word to say about it. His never left tarmac at all.
Very capable on a motorway, but you may want the higher screen to deflect the wind if you do a lot of mileage.

I owned one for a few months last summer, and can't really remember why I sold it; probably found something else that took my fancy.

Regardless, I can tell you they're fine for say 80 mph cruising; neither vibration nor stability are a problem although the smallish screen might be. Good brakes too. And its in a different league (i.e. better) than the BMW G650GS - I tested one but found it gutless and frankly a toy in comparison. Wouldn't take either of them on a technical Devon trail but for adventuring or everyday transport, the XT is great.
