About 12 months ago I found 192-015 impassable as lorry loads of large stones had been tipped at the entrances to the lane. I talked to the contractor on site and he informed me that the gullies in the lane were to be filled with these large rocks and a surface of plannings over the top of them . This was to enable the lane to be made accesable to walkers ond horse riders as the then state of the lane prevented access by these groups.
I rode this lane yesterday and surprise suprise as drainage had not been addressed all the plainings have washed away and the surface is now a danger to all as it is just the lage stone infill left which is almost impossible to walk on in places and I am sure no horse rider would risk it. So public money has been used to make the lane surface worse it would seem.

Yup drainage has to be the biggest evil for all roads when it comes to surface breakdown, while the authorities have the knowledge to hand its the money factor that lets the whole system down
By its sheer nature the amount of water along with its speed carried from the top will make an excellent water cannon to clear out all that loose material so expertly compacted into place
However all things have a habbit of reverting back to original state eventually some more quicker than others
How can we help mother nature along maybe a CO 2 uphill?
The first time i rode it after the regrading i met a horse along with its rider coming downwards smiling and that was just the horse eek!
My first thought was how the heck did they manage to get down that rocky terrain at the top of the lane, then my memory kicked in as i recall harty saying what a crime it had received the ole hardcore treatment
Many trail riders are avoiding this one simply coz its received the dreaded infill process, probably time for a run out that way to have a look see
Thanks for the update along with a good photo, just maybe we could see this great lane return to normal TRF status sooner than we first thought especially with todays luverly weather
