This is what I have as an emergency phone on Tesco pay as you go. Fiver, job done and battery lasts about 2 weeks

The Nokia 3210 is also a good emergency phone.

I bet there are a few TRFers with these lying around unused when they upgraded.

Battery lasts for weeks* - especially if you don't turn it on! Takes any of the PAYG SIM cards. I currently use Orange. All you have to do is to make a single call every six months to prevent the card being locked. Perfect to leave in your riding jacket and forget about until your next trail ride wink

I have recently "upgraded" to an all singing and dancing phone but it needs to be "fed" constantly. I rarely use any of the additional functions and am seriously considering going back to my 3210 full time  disbelief

* The ad says 300 hours standby....

Thanks everyone. Splashed out a whole £19.95 I could have got a cheaper one but this is a duel Sims which is excellent for abroad. You keep your own Sims in for receiving texts (free) on your existing number then buy a local Sims card (local to the country you are traveling in) to make calls should save a small fortune and easy for the family and kids to keep in touch.
