Decent Family Pub in Exmouth - Recommendations Please

My brother is taking his tribe to Exmouth on the weekend and I need somewhere for lunch that's child and wife friendly.

Any recommendations?

No quite Exmouth but 14 of us cycled from Darts Farm to the Kings Arms at Otterton a few weeks ago for Sunday lunch and were well looked after with good food and beer.

Very good ice cream stop at the start of the cycle track from Exmouth back to Darts Farm and a lovely lady serving it.

We did, of course, dip handle bars as we went through Exton. Otherwise known as TTRworld biggrin.gif

Thanks Bob.  Agreed that Otterton is a cracking place for lunch, but Exmouth it ain't.

Our same gang cycled to The Grove in Exmouth, last year, down on the front....awful. I think the beer was OK but the food was terrible.

Try The Clipper on The Strand http://www.partyatthepub.co.uk/bars/the-clipper-exmouth/menus/

Been there a few times and it seems OK.

 +1 cry

I live in Exmouth but as I have no kids I've never had to find kid friendly pubs.

Having said that The Farmhouse Inn is pretty good, my sister goes there with her kids.

You could maybe try The Beacon Vaults, I've eaten there a few times recently, there are new owners who have an area away from the bar & I wouldn't think kids would be a problem.

No garden though.

There was a change of plan late in the day and we just hung around Sandy Bay holiday park with the rellies.  My lads got hungry around 14:00 when the little kids were in the pool, so I slipped them a hard earned 20 to get themselves a Burger King meal.

They returned a couple of hours later.

Turned out that footy was on TV in the bar and £20 can secure a small portion of chips, an ice cream and 6 pints of cider...

Oh, to be young again.
